Temporomandibular Disorder

The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders have many different symptoms and many times are misdiagnosed. Some symptoms include; joint stiffness, headaches, clicking or popping sounds in the jaw, pain or ringing in the ears, facial pain and locked open or closed jaw joints.

Dr. Skowronski uses the most advanced technology and incorporates his vast continued education to diagnose and treat TMJ disorders. The evaluation obtained to treat TMJ includes: a complete history of symptoms experienced, a physical exam to check for muscle tension, tenderness and joint mobility, a complete series of tomogram x-rays, panorex and study models of the mouth.

Once all records obtained have been assessed and evaluated, a consultation with Dr. Skowronski will be the next step in treatment. At the consultation a complete treatment plan including projected treatment outcome, fees, payment options, possible insurance coverage and estimated length of treatment are given. Dr. Skowronski takes this time to ensure the patient understands their treatment and has expressed all inquiries.
