Dental Crowns

Most dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We can replace existing dental crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain or gold crowns to make the smile appear “as new”. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using this technology. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown.

On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a new beautiful looking tooth.

Key Benefits of Dental Crowns

  • Replaces missing teeth
  • Offers support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
  • Looks completely natural
  • Fixes “smile” and functional chewing problems

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or gold. A higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, dental crowns and/or dental bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent breakage.

I have been going to Dr. Ray for many, many years. I am very particular about who works on my teeth and I hope that he and his staff are around for a very long time to come. Going to see a dentist is very stressful, but the staff will make you feel like you are "right at home" there.

I've been a patient of Dr. Ray for more than 25 years! Even after his office changed locations, which resulted in my travel time doubling, I continued to see Dr. Ray and his staff. The care, both dental work and in general, I receive is outstanding. Dr. Ray and his staff are friendly, caring and professional. They make an effort to know their patients and to care for the whole person, not just the dental issues.

Once you go to Dr Ray's office you will never go to another dentist again. He is the kindest man I know and his staff are so wonderful that you feel like more of a friend than a patient. I always want to schedule my cleanings on certain days I have off work and Amber knows that so she will schedule my appointments before I even ask then call me and tell me what day and time. The first time she did that I couldn't believe anyone would go to such lengths to make sure a patient was taken care of, that's the kind off office Dr Ray runs. Everyone is professional but they treat you like part of their family-I adore everyone in this office.

As always Dr. Ray and his professional team knocked it out of the park, today!!! I have been a patient of Dr. Ray for 30 years. His caring, compassionate, individualized approach ROCKS!!! ️ Today, Lorie was my dental assistant. She is very, kind, knowledgeable and skilled. I truly appreciated her presence during my root canal. She apprised me each step of the way as to what was being done and what would be done next. This allowed me to not experience anxiety, as there were no surprises Amber, (at the front office) is very friendly and efficient at meeting the patient’s needs. She is spot on with her customer service and goes above and beyond to accommodate what is needed Through the many years I have referred numerous individuals to Dr. Ray. Family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, acquaintances, patient’s, and even strangers. Many, of whom, had negative memories of visits to the dentist, (painful, impersonal, even traumatic). A large number of these persons had not been to a dentist in years, secondary to fear, anxiety, etc. All who followed through with my referral, profusely thanked me and went on to become one of his patient’s, recommending him to others. Mom’s with “ littles” have given grande feedback, and the children have told me themselves, “ I love Dr. Ray.” Dental care is fundamental to our overall health and well being. It is so important to feel comfortable, safe, and have alignment with our professional provider. Dr. Ray and his team are warm, welcoming, caring, and treat one like they are family. If you are new to the area, unhappy with your current provider, haven’t been to a dentist in a long time, (for whatever reason), I strongly encourage you to give Dr. Ray the opportunity to care for you. His seasoned mastery, along with his state of the art awareness, sets him far above the pack. In my humble opinion, I believe you will be thoroughly satisfied with the care you receive. In health and wellness, Bea’ R
