Dr. Raymond Skowronski: A Passion for Perfection
Since 1983, Dr. Skowronski has been practicing dentistry in the Detroit area, with his first practice located in St. Clair Shores. In that time, he has learned many lessons that only experience can teach, but he has also been dedicated to continuing his formal education in dentistry. Every month he and his staff complete some form of continuing education. He now serves Sterling Heights, MI, and the surrounding areas with a combination of old-school bedside manner and the latest techniques and technologies.
Earning His Dental Degree
Dr. Raymond Skowronski Jr. is certified by the Northeast Regional Board of Dentistry. After graduation from De La Salle Collegiate High School, Dr. Skowronski attended the University of Detroit, earning his bachelor’s degree in biology and graduating summa cum laude. He continued his education and received his doctorate from the University of Detroit, School of Dentistry four years later. Dr. Skowronski was very involved in his academic community, serving as the president of Psi Omega as well as being an active member of Alpha Epsilon Delta and Alpha Sigma Nu. Upon graduation, Dr. Skowronski’s academic and clinical excellence was recognized by receiving the oral and maxillofacial surgeon’s award, the Pierre Fauchard Award, the scholastic Achievement Award as well as being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the highest academic honor achievable by any dental student. Dr. Skowronski also attended and completed the United States Dental Institute in 1990.
A Passionate Teacher
After graduation, Dr. Skowronski realized he had a true passion not only for dentistry but for teaching as well. He returned to the dental school, where he served as a member of their faculty until 1988. During this time, he also served as a prominent faculty member for Oakland University. As a proud alumnus of De La Salle Collegiate High School, Dr. Skowronski has served on the board of trustees to ensure a bright future for the school. Dr. Skowronski’s love for the classroom is something he is still passionate about today and values the opportunity to lecture to any age group about the importance of oral health, TMJ & sleep medicine.
Ongoing Education
Dr. Skowronski understands that dentistry is a dynamic field, and he works hard to remain at the forefront of his discipline. He is a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, fellowship eligible member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He obtained Diplomat status for the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Skowronski is an active member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine International Association for Orthodontics, and finally a charter member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontists. Dr. Skowronski has also completed well over 2000 hours of continuing education since graduating with emphasis on subjects such as head, face, and neck pain, as well as orthodontics and dental sleep medicine.
Learning from Experience
In 1983 Dr. Skowronski opened the doors to his practice in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Over the years, his practice has grown substantially. With the support of his family as well as much planning and consideration, he built a new state-of-the-art office in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Dr. Skowronski strives to provide the finest quality and the most current dental health care available within a comfortable environment.
Dedication to Charity, Church, and Family
In addition to his many outstanding educational accomplishments, Dr. Skowronski is an active member of numerous programs, charities, and dental associations.
- Just One Crown, a donation program aimed at benefiting JDRF which focuses on curing Type I Diabetes.
- Michigan Donated Dental Services: a program in which participating dentists dedicate their talents to provide free comprehensive dental treatment for elderly, permanently disabled, or medically compromised patients who otherwise are unable to get the treatment they desperately need.
- Families Against Narcotics Board Member: Educating young adults, parents, school personnel, law enforcement, judges, and most of all Doctors and other health care professionals of the dangers of prescription drug use, especially opioids.
- Angels of Hope: Providing financial assistance to children and those who love and care for them as they battle cancer.
Dr. Skowronski and his wife Mary Ann have been married for over 35 years and have three wonderful children.
Dr. Deanna Skowronski: A Dental Legacy
Dr. Deanna Skowronski is a dedicated and compassionate general dentist with extensive clinical experience in providing high-quality dental care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to dental school, she obtained a Master of Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and History, both summa cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Diverse Expertise
Dr. Skowronski possesses experience in all aspects of general dentistry such as restorative, prosthodontic, and removable dentistry, as well as preventive care, oral surgery, and urgent care dentistry. She has treated medically compromised and underserved populations at clinics such as the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Cypress Creek Clinic and the HANDS Clinic of St. Lucie County, where she performed complex extractions, flap procedures, and alveoloplasties.
Research and Awards
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Skowronski is actively involved in dental research, focusing on opioid prescribing practices and addiction awareness. Her research was published in Dentistry Today and earned her the ADEA ADCFP Fellowship Award in 2023. Dr. Skowronski’s academic achievements and leadership have been honored with numerous awards, including NSU Overall Student of the Year, NSU Dental Student of the Year, and the AAOMS Dental Student Award. She has pursued advanced training through externships in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Detroit Receiving Hospital and Broward & Memorial Hospitals.
Continuing Education
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Skowronski has completed continuing education courses in esthetic dentistry, implant placement, orthodontics, and facial aesthetics, including Botox/Dysport and dermal filler training.
With a passion for patient-centered care, research, and education, Dr. Skowronski strives to enhance oral health outcomes through personalized treatment and continuous professional development.
Dr. Nicholas Goza: A Dedicated Expert
Dr. Nicholas Goza was born and raised in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. At a very young age, Dr. Goza knew he wanted to practice dentistry. Dr. Goza received his bachelor’s degree from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi where he was on scholarship as a pitcher for their baseball team. Following graduation, Dr. Goza practiced as an endodontic assistant and then continued his education at the University of Detroit Mercy where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Dr. Goza is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Michigan Dental Association.
Family-Centered
Dr. Goza currently resides in Washington Twp., MI with his wife Bianca and son Salvatore. In his free time, Dr. Goza enjoys watching a variety of sports, fishing, and traveling. Dr. Goza strives to provide exceptional care to his patients and takes pride in improving their oral health.
