A Clean Environment Protects Patients and Staff

Infection controls and universal precautions protect patients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control. We follow the latest disinfection and sterilization procedures recommended to prevent the spread of disease at our practice. This may include requiring certain procedures from our patients. We kindly ask that you comply with our requests to protect yourself, our other patients, and our staff.

We also believe that trust is a cornerstone of a good and safe dental practice. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our infection control procedures.

Recommended Practices

Dr. Skowronski and our entire team follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies, such as the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include:
Disinfectant hand soap

  • Gloves and face masks
  • Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
  • Sterilization of all equipment before every use
  • Disposable materials
  • Safety glasses for patients

We sterilize using an autoclave of all reusable equipment, including dental handpieces. This device ensures the killing of bacteria and viruses by steam, heat, and pressure.

Be an Informed Patient

The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your healthcare. And the more you know about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
